I'm getting really sick of what is happening to my black people.

Today as I walked home from class, I noticed this group of middle schoolers (I'm assuming but kids are big these days) && the way they acted/ talked was very unbecoming.... lol

Now by no means think I'm passing judgement cuz I cuss like a sailor && proud of it.
But I know there's a time && place for everything, but these kids musta missed that memo.

So the convo goes:

random lil boy: You a hoe, you was giving him [who? idk] head in the staircase!
random lil girl: How you know? where you there? anyway, that's my boo so I can do whatever I want!

Ok, umm... Boo? My teeth hurt I was cringing so hard.
they continued:

lil boy: You a hoe cuz you was messin' wit his friend when school started.
lil girl: We broke up. Why you on my dick? I ain't messin' with you so why you care?
lil boy: Cuz I don't like hoes, you nasty!
lil gurl: Ya mova's a hoe && she nasty!

when did we start to teach our young to hate each other && their selves?
I didn't talk like this when I was younger. Partly because my mother would snatch me bald if I did. But mostly because I wouldn't want anyone to talk to me like that.

When did our generation loos it's self respect? && why are we passing this on to our youth?!

Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong wars! Killing each other is definitely played out. Being hurt from the lost of a love one was never cool. Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong war! I know that feeling , that frustration with life and needing to take it out on someone, any one. But….

We chose the dumbest things to go the hardest for. I remember seeing deaths over 8 ball jackets, fila’s , and name plate chains. Deaths over “he say she say”!!!!! “I’m from This block or I’m from that block”, or “my moms n pops is f*cked up now the whole world gotta pay”!!!

I remember feeling like I was the hardest “n*gga” breathin. And I couldn’t wait to prove it. But let’s think. What r we really proving?? And proving what to who?? Everybody knows Chicago breeds the strongest of the strong but I just feel, me, being ya brother from another state feels your pain as if I grew up with you in ya very own household.

You have the ability and mind power to change they way we are looked at. Look who’s watching us young warriors, look who’s throwin us in jail constantly, look at the ignorance in the world. Look at the racist dogs who love to see us down. Lovin to bury us in the ground or in jail were we continue this worthless war on one another. Young warriors…. We are WASTING more and more time. We gotta get on our jobs and take over the world. Cuz This movie left the theaters years ago, Juice, Menace, boys n the hood , blood n blood out, Belly!

When we see each other why do we see hatred? Why were we born in a storm, born soldiers, WARRIORS….and instead of building each other up we are at war with each other.. May the soul of this young person find peace with the almighty. I’m with you young warriors. You’re me and I’m you. But trust me! you are fighting the wrong war.

pretty for a black girl.

WTF?!

So today I took my niece to the neurologist (yup Ima good auntie) when a hispanic woman came over && started talking to me.

First off let me say that I don't like people (black, white, brown, spanish, asian, ALIVE) && if I don't already know you, then I don 't wanna get to know you.

But this middle- aged woman continues to talk my ear off while we sit in the waiting room. I'm pretty good at ignoring strangers (people I know && care for are a different story) when something she said actually reached me.

She had the nerve to say

You very pretty. What else are you? I know you can't just be Black.

stop the presses. Old b-i-itch say what??
Now I'm sure somewhere in that ignorance was a compliment, the problem is: I'm not digging that far in to find it!

So I said back to her:

no I'm just Black. 100% Black. 100% Beautiful.

Her face dropped && she scooted over a couple of seats. I guess she was trying to figure out if I had some spanish in me (or latino, idk which ever is politically correct) && thus wanted to bound.

Sorry to burst her bubble.

The thing about this is it wasn't the first time. Lately (since I've made the decision to go natural) I've been questioned a lot on my ethnicity. Partially because of my chinky/slanted eyes but more so for my curly/wavy hair

One time when I was in high school, some puerto rican dude told me I was "pretty for a black girl". See I went to h.s. in spanish harlem so my school was filled with em. So of course every black girl I knew was offended
1- because they wanted to be called pretty for their race (ignorant)
2- or because they didn't like me && thought I wasn't pretty.

for the record, I think I am badd =) yup with 2 "d's"

So because I don't like to feed into people's ignorance I tell people I am 100% black, which isn't the whole truth.

But I feel like I'm sticking to them to say 'yea we got some badd looking black women in the real world (not including celebrities)

So to set the record straight:

Eury is 50% Jamaican (mixed with Chinese, yes honestly...), 25% Black (straight negro), && 25% British/ Greek (for the simple- minded this means White).

If your still confused: My dad is Jamaican && Chinese and my mom is half Black && half White.

Yup... Ima mut =)
